    Cottage house

    Hi

A few days ago I started to create a scene about a Hungarian cottage house. I would like to know about your opinions, and read suggestions what you think I should change to make it look better. I used vray displacement method for grass (I have been trying advance painter for creating and painting grass objects, but unfortunately my PC's performance is limited)

Looks really nice. The second one is composed better. The first lack something in the atmosphere. Neither it's sunny nor gloomy...The shaders look very convincing ( maybe the bench is a little flat). The shed on the second looks much better. Oh, and the animal is overscaled. A bit
Can You tell something more about the grass- I wouldn't guess it's displ?
It's nice to see images that are showing something other than modern/futuristic/concrete etc stuff.

thx for replying!!!!! i am really into modern/futuristic/concrete, but i have homesick, stared watching pictures of traditional Hungarian cottage houses, and got some inspiration . the grass is vray displacement 2d mapping, amount of 0.12m, resolution 2048. i copied a few grass object located closely to the camera, but my pc is not strong enough to deal with more than 2million polygons, plus using proxies makes my render time extremely long. so I am looking for solutions what does not need big power of pc, and does not increase the rendering time. i have noticed that the grey cow on the picture is over scaled, especially on the other render from different viewport (i did not even want to upload that particular picture, it was that embarrassing (: ). i changed the texture on the shed, but im still not happy with it.

    Nice work

Hello from mother land Pretty nice mood, what I would change is the ground add some more variation like mud or paths. And maybe the chimney needs to go back to something more basic stile with a stork nest, I am not sure about the 2 pipes, but it is just an idea.

The color of grass isn't bad, but is too upright, probably due to the use of the displacement.
I suggest you use other methods to achieve it, even to take up less RAM, maybe like scatter (if you use V-Ray there's a good plugin called Autograss )
