    Green Lodge - Jarabacoa Mountains / Dominican Republic (WIP)

    Hello everybody, this is my first post, and first shot at rendering on 3ds Max, until recently i was a firm Cinema4D user but i got convinced over to the dark side so after studyin Simonhc's tutorrials and other fellow talents this is my first result, any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Softwares:
    Revit, 3ds Max, Vray

    I used for lighting a direct light, with a HDRI map as a sky ... altho i cant get to see the shadows of the sun on my house yet... bear with me like i said im new at this.

    Fix

    Ok i tweaked here and there and got this result, i can finally see the shadows and i see it looking much better. Now for some materials

    Now to proxy the front with some grass strands to make it look better

    I'm not sure if You've already figure it out, but in your directional parameters (direct light) Hotspot/beam is very small. If You want to use direct light as a sun, the radius should cover the whole scene.
